Preservation of Lotus Pond and Varities
of Lotuses and aquatic flowers
The Shri Kunja has a natural lotus pond which is being preserved
to grow a dozen varieties of lotuses, plants and water lilies.
The
natural pond covers an area of approximately half an acre
and is in severe need of conservation. We propose to restore
the fast disappearing pond by constructing a spiral-shaped
bank with a walkaway enclosing it from all sides. The slopes
of the bank will have a green cover of herbs and ever-greens
and preserve the bio-diversity of the area.
The
pond will preserve a wide variety of lotuses and acquatic
plants.
